The Beginning of Our Little Farm

I haven't posted on here for over a year and I keep feeling overwhelmed with this thought that I have to post about all the things that have happened and then I just click on the little x in the corner and tell myself I will do it another day. Just now I decided I will post about what is happening right now and if I don't ever go back and post about the things we have done the last year that will be okay as long as I keep posting in the future. The main reason I started this blog was for it to be a journal for our family that we could enjoy and share together.

For years now we have talked about wanting our little farm and it has finally happened. There are moments we can't believe it has happened and so soon, we thought it would take longer than it did. Then there are days when I feel really over whelmed with all that needs to be done. I love it, but I still have those days where I think, how are we going to do this? In my mind I know we can, I just can't always do it in the way and time frame that I would like. We have been here for four and a half months now and even though I look at all around us and see so much to be done, I can also look around and see how much we have accomplished and it is pretty impressive. So here are some of the beginning pictures of what we have. A lot has changed since we took these pictures, but for now this is all you are going to get.

Josh is 32! (Before Ally was 7 and almost 5 months ago)

No that is not an orange cigar, it is a carrot! We started doing this fun birthday dinner/treat of waffles and ice cream. It is lots of fun and makes the food prep a little less demanding so there is more time for fun!

This is what Ally's plate looked like before she started eating it.  I should have cropped out some of the other stuff but that is ok that I didn't! The world will keep spinning and my family will still love me.

Happy Birthday Josh! We love you.

Ally Turned 7 (over 4 months ago)

So I am a little behind on the blog posting thing. So I have to put a birthday post on here from Ally's birthday. She had a Green-Clover-Leprechaun party and it was lots of fun.

Right now Ally's favorite color is green and her favorite plant is the clover which works great with her  birthday (St. Patrick's day) or may be because of her birthday...
She is also great at hula hooping and jump roping and has been doing awesome in choir this year. One of her good friends right now besides her sister Brya is Kylie Voss that was with her in their 1st grade class.

All the girls had to make some special glasses so they could see the leprechaun clues for the treasure hunt.

The treasure at the end of the rainbow was a pot of golden colored home made ice cream (that didn't turn out super yummy but none of the kids complained and some even asked for seconds.)

Eli looks awesome in his glasses and doesn't seem to think the ice cream tasted kind of gross. Happy Birthday Ally! We love you and all the spunk that comes with you.

Student of the Week!

Ally we are so proud of you for getting student of the week! Sorry our picture at the school didn't work out. The camera appeared to not be working and since it was a loaner I didn't even think of trying to figure out the problem (the battery was in backwards.)

Poor Ally is actually a very sick little girl in this picture but she still looks great right? She has Influenza A and we have all been in quarantine for the last several days (except for when the emts from our 911 call showed up along with our neighbors to help out.) I actually took Ally in to the emergency room because she was so sick (the day before Eli's nose dive.) These posts are a little out of order. Hopefully our week gets much less exciting as we finish it out. However, I would except a positive exciting event...maybe...please?

We have a boy: Nose Dive!

You can't see it too well in the picture and now he has two black eyes that have darkened nicely after the incident. Poor boy took a nose dive off of a swing while he was swinging on his stomach. Tonight he scared us even worse when he had our very first (and hopefully last) family seizure. It was fever induced and it looks like he is going to be okay. I can tell it is going to be a long night though. We love you Eli! Please don't let trips to the doctor and 911 calls be frequent events in the future!

Meet Macey Sylvester!

She is very sweet but don't let her sad eyes and droppy ears deceive you. She has been very protective and she makes us feel very safe, sometimes even safe from moms with toddlers and sweet grandma's that bring us treats and other nice things. Anyone know how to help us with that?

She also loves dragging around and playing with the big sticks in the backyard. We throw them to her as well but she has a ball (or should I say stick?) with them all by herself.

As you can see Eli (as well as everyone else) loves her. She is so patient with him even when he gets a little rough with her.

Now they are both posing for the camera.

Doesn't this look like it belongs on a magazine ad or a motivational poster? A boy and his dog ... and his sister's Elmo slippers.
