Shayla is Officially Two!

We had a fun time celebrating Shayla's second birthday. We invited a few families from our new ward over to celebrate. The Williams, Chars and Willards. I think that was a good warm up for Shayla to know what to do with her Christmas presents.

Here is Shayla in the cute little out fit her Grandma Sylvester gave her. This picture isn't from her actual birthday, we had her wear it the next Sunday to church. She wore it for three days straight. I think partly because her big sisters kept on trying to "borrow" it from her.

Shayla doesn't seem to really care too much about her cake and ice cream. She licked all the frosting off her cupcake and dipped her fingers in her ice cream a little after it melted.

This is Shayla's "Wee." At least that is what she says when she wants to be pushed around in a box or laundry basket. Much more affordable and good fun compared to the other Wii.

Shayla was pretty much terrified of the flaming cupcake. She kept leaning away from it and Josh ended up blowing it out before she got too upset about it.

Some fun things about Shayla right now:

When Shayla says she wants a "nap" she means a snack

When she wants to sleep she says "night, night" no matter what time of day.

She always has to have a "blee" which is a light blanket that she likes to chew/suck on when she falls asleep or is just tired. Luckily there is no one "blee" and we have several blankets that are acceptable "blees" for her.

She loves the song "All the Single Ladies" by Beyonce

She absolutely loves playing with her big sisters and they love her too. I have been pleasantly surprised by how well they play and how little they complain about her being so much younger and not always understanding what they are doing.

She loves Elmo and has a little stuffed version of him and some Elmo slippers she got from her Grandma Rice that she loves and very often is looking for if she isn't holding him. It is also a great way to redirect her attention if she is doing something we don't want her to do.

She also loves nursery and the Popcorn song. She is also great at cleaning up to the clean up song she learned in nursery.

  3. Yay for all of the posts! We sure do miss your whole family. I'm so glad to see that everything is going well and you're hanging in there. I wish I could be there for this upcoming birth. The girls are always asking if we can go and visit Brya and Alley - maybe when all of your yucky snow is gone we'll have to plan a trip. Love you!!
